The Historical Society was formed in June 2002.

Annual membership for 2018 is just £14.00 per person (£24.00 if two people from the same address join at the same time).

Entry to monthly meetings is free to members, as is help with research and access to the Society archives.

All are welcome to attend meetings (children under-16 must be accompanied by an adult); there is an entry charge of £3.00 for non-members on the door, which includes tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat.

Meetings are usually held in the Community Hall on the third Monday of the month (except July, August and December when there are no meetings) starting at 7.30 p.m. However this can vary due to Bank Holidays (please see list below or check the website or Facebook page).
