The marquee erected next to the hall for Katie and Robert's wedding
The Cranshaw family from Batesons Farm in the village used the hall’s facilities to host the reception and evening event at their daughter’s wedding in July.
Local girl Katie married Robert Smith and the hall and specially erected marquee meant they could keep the event in the village.
The evening celebration was attended by many local farmers and villagers, being hailed as a great success by all those who attended (and left quietly by one o’clock!).
Commenting on the hall being used for weddings, Vice-Chairman Steve Williams said “Whilst we welcome enquiries for similar events from local people, it was a ‘one off’ and a special event for a local girl who has been very involved in the local community all her life. I certainly cannot remember a similar event at the hall over the last 25 years or so. All-in-all it was a really good ‘village do’, with many locals reminiscing about similar events in the old hall and even the old Institute”.
