£13,300 has been donated in the last 2 weeks, leaving just £9,700 to be raised; this will be supplemented by a further £1,400 in Gift Aid to be reclaimed from the Inland Revenue.
We have managed to get an extension to our deadline until the 14th August, and we also expect to hear from two major grant awarders before then.
Meg Burford, Chairman of the Hall Management Committee is confident that the amount will be raised, and expects building of a new hall to start at the end of September.
Brindle Parish Council Chairman, Steve Williams, urges everyone in the community to support the hall and donate whatever they can, now. He says “It is vital we have a facility in the village that caters for everyone. The Parish Council has already pledged £10,000 and is monitoring the situation closely. We plan to have a meeting with the Hall Chairman at the start of August to see what else we can do“.
