Brindle Community Hall

‘The pleasure of reading’

Brindle Bookworms meet every 3rd Monday of the month in the Hall from 2.00 p.m. to 3.15 p.m. The group have been going for seven years and currently have 11 members who pay £1.00 each month to cover the cost of the room hire plus tea / coffee & biscuits.

Lancashire Library Service secure all books the group orders, one per month, which are loaned to us for that month. Every member has the opportunity at the end of each year to choose the books for the next year. Some read every book chosen, whilst others are selective. Books are loaned for a month and then discussed at the next meeting by the group.

In addition, we have a number of visitors including presentations by authors visiting the County as well as our own members. We also arrange visits to bookshops and theatres, as well as suggest ideas to the Library Service about the development of book clubs within the region.
